Student and Summer Employment
NIFA offers opportunities through the Pathways Program for students and recent graduates to work in a wide range of fields including the agricultural, environmental, and social sciences as well as business and information technology. USDA offers internships to students and recent graduates to help them to excel in their chosen fields. USDA Internship Program
The USDA Internship Program provides paid work experiences for students who are in high school or pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in an accredited college or university. Interns may work during any semester. Visit USAjobs.gov for more information and how to apply.
USDA Recent Graduates Program
This program is for individuals who have recently graduated from qualifying educational institutions or programs and seek a dynamic, career development program with training and mentorship. To be eligible, applicants must apply within two years of degree or certificate completion, Veterans precluded from doing so due to military service obligation will have up to six years to apply. USDA Presidential Management Fellows Program
The USDA Presidential Management Fellows (PMF) Program is a prestigious, competitive program that is managed by the Office of Personnel Management. The PMF Program supports leadership development for recent graduates who have been pre-qualified or recommended by a network of graduate schools. Graduates are provided with a two-year appointment at USDA that may lead to conversion to a permanent appointment. Link to more information on the PFM program.
