Enhancing NIFA's Effectiveness for Global Engagement

In order for NIFA to achieve an effective platform for global engagement, NIFA’s Center for International Programs (CIP) must: (1) advise and establish partnerships with other federal agencies; and (2) provide guidance to others within NIFA to include global engagement opportunities for U.S. institutions in NIFA’s grant programs.

CIP establishes linkages between NIFA and other organizations, such as the U.S. Agency for International Development, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research, and the World Bank to globally advance the results and experience of NIFA and the institutions it serves. These connections also keep NIFA informed of emerging agricultural issues that may concern the United States. In addition, CIP brings awareness to international issues through briefings and webinars.
