Webinar: AFRI Sustainable Agricultural Systems (May 1, 2019)
The purpose of the Fiscal Year 2019 Agriculture and Food Research Initiative (AFRI) Sustainable Agricultural Systems (SAS) is to promote the sustainable supply of abundant, affordable, safe, nutritious, and accessible food and other agricultural products, while enhancing economic opportunities and improving the long-term health and well-being of all Americans. The program requires a Letter of Intent, due June 4, 2019, and the applications are due September 26, 2019. Approximately $90 million will be available to fund non-renewable grants up to $10,000,000 for systems-level Coordinated Agricultural Projects (CAPs) or Strengthening CAPs with project periods of up to five years. The CAP and Strengthening CAP grants must be fully integrated with research, education and extension components and will require transdisciplinary approaches to solve major agricultural challenges.
NIFA program staff will be conducting webinars for interested applicants to learn about the SAS program and its application process. The webinar will be held on May 1, 2019 from 10-11 a.m. Eastern Standard Time. If you have questions, contact the AFRI Sustainable Agricultural Systems Team.
NOTE: During the question and answer portion, we ask that you submit questions via the webinar chat or via email to firstname.lastname@example.org. A transcript and recording of the webinar will be available on the AFRI SAS page.
