Federal Register Notices, Rules and Regulations
The FederalRegister.gov website is jointly administered by the Office of Federal Register (OFR) of the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) and the U.S. Government Printing Office.The documents published on this site assist the Office of the Federal Register to inform citizens of their rights and obligations, documents the actions of Federal agencies, and provides a forum for public participation in the democratic process. Note that while the content on this site do not constitute the official legal edition of the Federal Register, it does provide corresponding links to the official PDF file on FDsys.gov and remains an unofficial information source.
The National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) publishes three of the four types of entries found on the Federal Register site:
- Rules and Regulations, including policy statements and interpretations of rules.
- Proposed Rules, including petitions for rulemaking and other advance proposals.
- Notices, including scheduled hearings and meetings open to the public, grant applications, administrative orders, and other announcements of government actions.
