Center for Behavioral Economics for Agri-Environmental and Risk Management Policy Research
This program area priority within the Agriculture Economics and Rural Communities (AERC) program area is a joint effort between the Economic Research Service (ERS) and NIFA. This program area priority is only being offered for the 2018 AERC program. This program area priority is intended to support a Center for Behavioral and Experimental Economics for Agri-Environmental and Risk Management Policy Research. The center will employ and advance the use of behavioral and experimental economics to conduct research on how policies and programs can influence the provision of ecosystem services from agricultural resources, the management of risk, and other aspects of food and agricultural policy. The center will examine or support research efforts that address issues such as:
- The design and implementation of natural resource and conservation policy, agricultural risk management strategies and policy
- Enrollment and participation in various risk management or conservation programs
- Adoption and management of resource conserving and risk mitigation production practices;
