Lessons from the Life of George Washington Carver to Deal with a Hotter, Flatter, More Crowded Earth
NIFA Director Sonny Ramaswamy delivered on April 8, the second in a series of lectures being held in 2015 at Tuskegee University, Tuskegee, Alabama, on the life and accomplishments of George Washington Carver. The lecture series takes place this year to mark the 125th anniversary of the Morrill Act, the legislation that established 1890 land-grant universities and colleges. Dr. Ramaswamy talked about how George Washington Carver spurred innovations that greatly impacted agriculture and how his research and teachings can be applied to address growing global food demand and other future agricultural challenges.
