Ann E. Lichens-Park
Dr. Lichens-Park is the National Program Leader for Microbial Genomics in the Institute of Food Production and Sustainability of the National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA). She is responsible for administering the Plant Biotic Interactions competitive grants program, which is offered in partnership with the National Science Foundation. She is NIFA’s NPL Liaison to Ohio State University and she serves as one of the program contacts for NIFA’s Hatch funding. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Pomona College and a doctorate in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics from Harvard University. She has worked for USDA since 1992, during which time she has managed a variety of competitive research grants programs which have supported projects ranging from basic research to transitional/applied work involving research, education and extension. She follows progress on funded projects and communicates project results in various venues.
