Jan Singleton, Ph.D., RDN
As Director of the Division of Food Safety, Dr. Singleton provides national leadership for food safety programs and activities at the National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA). She supervises a staff of National Program Leaders, Program Specialists, Program Assistants and others, while providing support and leadership for food safety research, education, and extension at NIFA. She leads others in applying science-based knowledge to solving complex problems in the food and agricultural sciences. Jan has her PhD in Human Nutrition, and is a Registered Dietitian (RD). She is an active member of the Institute for Food Technologists, the International Association for Food Protection, the American Society for Microbiology, and the American Chemical Society.
