Sally Gifford is the senior communications manager at NIFA, supporting all aspects of the agency’s external and internal communications. Sally joins NIFA after her tenure as public affairs specialist at the National Endowment for the Arts, where she managed communications for the NEA Office of Research & Analysis, alongside high-profile agency initiatives, such as the NEA Military Healing Arts Partnership. Previously, she was a senior account executive at Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide, where she developed and implemented strategic communications plans for several Ogilvy practices, including Public Affairs, Heath & Medical, and Marketing. Public and private sector clients included the National Institutes of Health and the National Park Foundation. She has grant making experience through her role as director of the grant program and public relations for the DC Humanities Council, a private, nonprofit affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities. Prior to that, she gained journalism skills at Education Week newspaper, the leading, independent newspaper on K-12 education. Sally received a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Georgetown University.
