Dr. William (Bill) Goldner serves as a National Program Leader in the Division of Sustainable Bioenergy of the Institute of Bioenergy, Climate and Environment, in USDA's National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA). Bill is involved in the shared leadership of NIFA’s Bioeconomy, Bioenergy, and Biobased Products (B3) portfolio including:
- Team Lead for the Agriculture and Food Research Initiative (AFRI), Sustainable Bioenergy Challenge, Regional Bioenergy Coordinated Agricultural Project (CAP) Program. The competitive Regional Bioenergy CAP Program is investing, currently a total of $156 M over five years for seven projects developing sustainable regional systems for the production of advanced biofuels, biopower, and biobased products from dedicated energy feedstocks through the facilitation of regional academic, industry, and government partnerships integrating research, development, demonstration, Extension, and education;
- Bill also represents NIFA and the Research, Education, and Economics (REE) Mission Area on intra-departmental and interagency bioenergy and biobased product working groups.
