Institute of Bioenergy, Climate, and Environment

The Institute of Bioenergy, Climate, and Environment (IBCE) administers programs that address the nation’s national priorities including efforts to advance energy independence, help farms and ranches, forests, and rangelands adapt to climate change. IBCE programs integrate research, education, and extension from across a range of scientific disciplines. The institute’s core programs address basic natural resources — including air, water, and soil — to advance sustainable forest, range, and agricultural production.

Top Priorities

  • Advance  U.S. energy independence
  • Adapt agriculture, forest, and rangeland systems to climate change
